The back door of any home is probably the most vulnerable part of your home security, this includes all doors, side doors and French doors.

When I tell the customer that these locks are useless for security, the normal response is, no one can get into my garden the neighbours will see them, this is total fallacy, ALWAYS PROTECT THE BACK DOORS.

The locks I would recommend for a single back door is a 5 lever BRITISH STANDARD sash lock. There are plenty of good locks on the market for example: CHUBB, YALE, UNION, SECUREFAST, ERA, and BANHAM are just to name a few, these are all ideal locks and importantly insurance approved.

CHUBB 3K74e SashLock Roller latch means lock is suitable for fitting in to doors both left and fight handed. Deadbolt is locked with a key from either side and the latch is with drawn with a handle from either side. Supplied with 2 Keys. This lock can be passed with the front door CHUBB 3G114e is a strong dependable lock.

The ERA Fortress sash lock fully complies with both the British standard recommendations. Further recommendation from the police-endorsed Secured by Design programme guarantees insurance companies exacting criteria is not only met but exceeded. Higher security levels are delivered by a 20mm bolt throw on every lock, and the Sashlock has hardened steel plates to resist drilling, and four hardened steel rollers in the deadbolt resist hack sawing.
